Birthday

Someone once said that, " the meaning of life is that it stops"( or was it, it ends?). What he said is the ultimate truth, without the sugarcoat. Some celebrate their birthday with a bang! Booze, music,food,friends,family and other variations of merry making. I on the hand view birthday's as no more than a countdown to pending inevitable end!
I was once invited to attend a birthday party of someone whos existence i dont approved of, most of my friends will be in attendance and they asked me to join them,i just said," i dont even like that person!so why should i celebrate that he's still alive?". Yes i usually say the rudest things.
What i didnt know then was- the more birthday party he gets the nearer he gets to, getting old,getting ill, becoming senile and ofcourse dying.

pursuit of happiness!

Is happiness really a matter of choice? if it is,then why on earth would anyone choose to be unhappy? Its amazing how some people managed to be happy at all times.  Real happiness should be reserved to those who really deserve it!
Filipinos celebrate almost everything- its pay day! lets party!, its your birthday! lets celebrate!,its raining lets drink to that!, its midnight! how does a pajama party sound!?.  I hate seeing happy people,

bad weird dream!

i had a terrible dream! i was having fun with friends inside our subdivision when i realized that our house is the only house in the area.  I ignored it because our house in palmera is really the only occupied house in our block so this is nothing new.  we left went somewhere else and when i got back i found that somebody set the house on fire.  I was so furious and decided to call our realtor to file a complain.  After a couple rings somebody picked up and listened to me rattle, then i heard a woman said that this is just a demonstration of what she could do, first the house then she will kill/ hunt my brother ( i do not have a brother in real life ) 
Her voice is so cold but her threat is so real! a couple of minutes later i found my self talking to a friend ( someone i dont even like ) i forgot how the conversation went but its all about the incident, then i went home and found our house somewhere else untouched ( on top of a hill! like somebody just moved it like a toy! ).
I know that the plot doesnt make sense  but this is a dream its not supposed to make sense.  So i went up the hill and rushed in, theres a baby boy inside lying on a bed, a voice told me not to touch or wake him up because the boy is dreaming so i just ignored the little guy but there is something wrong with the way boy i couldnt tell if its is dead or not.
I once again heard a female voice instructing me not to wake him up because thats me sleeping and waking him up will kill me in real life. ( the voice sounded like my mother but i know its not her and theres no one else inside the house except for the baby boy and me- its really just a voice over just like in commercials ).
i look out a window and i saw a couple of guys killing another guy- its my brother! how i know its my brother ? i really dont know i just know!

juggling!

I have enough problems of my own but somehow i still always managed to mess with others concerns that should have been other wise outside my own. On the other hand, i know a handful of people so oblivious they either pretend not to care or worse they really don't give a hoot.

In the animal kingdom the rule of thumb is always self preservation, and how special are we to deviate? Animals spawn/ multiply but once their offspring is old enough to hunt their own food its back to survival of fittest theme. I think this is what makes us human, we have the ability to empathize,to care and sometimes even impose ourselves and give unsolicited advice.  

Then i realized that it would have been easier for me to help if both my hands are free to  lend assistance, but then again when would that time come? its not like there will come a day when i'll be totally worry free and i can spend time helping and worrying about someone else s problem!

For the meantime i'll just juggle my own personal dilemma, do my best to resolve it and not wait for somebody to help me with it.  For all i know they too are juggling their own burden it would be unfair to expect them to juggle yours!

customer from hell

i went to smart wireless center earlier to pay my smartbro bill, you know how it goes you take a number and wait for your number to be called.  i waited 10 minutes then finally my number was called.  The customer service rep greeted me and asked what my concern is, i told the guy that i will just pay my bill but i dont have my billing statement with me ( which is not unusual i dont think its  normal to carry your billing statement like your drivers license ).
I gave him my name and other info he needed to pull up my account after a minute he handed a piece of paper with my account number, then he told me to pay at the machine where theres a cue of paying customers.  I argued that i already waited for 10 minutes for my number to be called its not fair to get in line again just to pay, and asked him if its possible to make my payment at the cashier so i wouldn't have line up again.  He said that the cashier only accept credit card payment. To avoid body count i went to machine and waited for my turn.
after pressing several buttons the machine opened its drawer and i placed my cash on it, after several seconds the monitor displayed an error message but my cash was already in it.  It gave me a receipt saying that my bill payment was unsuccessful.  I approached one of their personnel and told him what happened, guess what he told me?........ to get a number and wait for my turn!
Violence is inevitable !! will continue on this soon.

Trip to the vet

Pampam suddenly lost her appetite, she refuse to eat anything that i serve her and that includes chicken barbecue, fried chicken, liver steak, and adobo. I hate it when any of my dogs get sick, that means i have to visit the vet again,who does nothing but prescribe meds that my dogs really hate( some are expensive too) whenever i bring a sick dog to the vet i feel awful because the vet always serve me with accusing looks that says im not treating my dogs well.
Pampam received 3 shots today, and a bag of medicine that she will be taking for the entire week. Some people dont like the idea that i been spending on my dogs but then again its my cash and every penny i spend on them is worth it.
I spend almost 2k on pampams trip to the clinic huge amount some might say, but would i rather have 2k on my wallet and just look at my dog with pity or would i rather play with my healthy dog? Just to see her wag her tail whenever i come home from work makes everything more than worth it.

RESIGNATION

What the hell is happenin? a few months ago i saw the ugly face of office politics, its ugly, its mean and i dont like it. Because of politics someone very close to me left her job,face unemployment and i think it becomes her really- based on status she had been posting on her facebook wall, it appears that shes having a ball.
And now a few months after i'm here facing my PC creating a resignation letter for a friend! The corporate world look so inviting and fun, but then again i dont think its wise to invest so much into it, you'll never know when the bosses will exercise their might and power trip on poor little employees. I've always been a fighter and when my boss from previous job tried flexing his muscle i gave him the finger. He said that the only reason why they hired me is pity, i smiled and told him that i thought that iT was because i kicked all the other applicants ass in terms of qualification.then i dared him to show me my i.q test as well as my colleagues results then ill show him why i qualified.
And that officially start our battle. I never let the moron intimidate or bully me, instead i turnthings around and make him feel uncomfortable sitting next to me. I laugh at him whenever theres an oppurtunity, i mock him because of his lack of computer knowledge, i dont follow his instruction but made sure that i get results my way. He loove reading those self help books until i told him that those book are designed for people who doesnt know what to do and cant maneuver his own life. I think he really hates me.

FROM BEEP ME TO TEXT ME.

     Back in the 90's its so cool to own a pager/beeper ( remember easycall?). 

And if you own an  analog mobile phone you'll be the coolest. 

     A pager is a device that allows you to receive messages remotely, 

all the senders gotta do is call the operator  and they will send the message straight to your gizmo.  Unfortunately there is no way of replying straight from your device

and there is no way of knowing if the message you sent was received by the owner or if you are receiving all your messages. the only way to reply is by calling the sender. i used to own a pager but never an analog phone only well off friends can afford them

     

     Then text messaging came along and that totally changed the telecommunication landscape.

     I  bought my very first phone back in 1998, i spent five digits on a second hand Bosch phone. Text messaging used to be a free service from globe all you need to do is visit a globe store buy a simcard and register your number with them and your ready to text away.  But, my first simcard cost me 2.5k ( unbelievable?) and the registration cost me 100 Php.  Small amount considering that  you'll be getting free unlimited sms service.  You can reload via prepaid card that is available only in 3 denomination 

-300,500,1000. Back then only Globe offer text messaging service and Smart subscriber are...not so lucky.

Total recall

     When i was a kid i asked my mom to buy me one of those nintendo thingy, the old school family computer you plug in your tv to play mario bros and battle city ( i think i was a fifth grader when i asked her ). She kept her promise and bought me one when i was in college, just when everybody else is on Playstation. I enjoyed it nonetheless.
When i was in college ( a couple of years after i received the nintendo unit ) i asked her to buy me either saturn by Sega or Playstaion by Sony- only because back then its quite difficult to find cartridges for the nintendo and everybody else is playing tekken on Ps1. I got my wish five years after just in time for the launch of PS2.

     I spent my first paycheck on gameboy advance, my 5th paycheck on PS1 and my back pay on PSP.  Now im waiting for the  release of experia play.
